BASF Launches online training modules for the ornamentals market

8/21/2008

Interactive training now available for FreeHand™ 1.75G herbicide and Pageant™ fungicide

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, August 21, 2008 – Nursery and greenhouse growers, and the BASF distribution network, now have access to a new online educational tool from BASF Turf & Ornamentals. The company has launched an interactive training module for its latest pest management innovations, FreeHand™ 1.75G herbicide and Pageant™ fungicide. Both educational, Web-based modules are available by clicking here.

Users can select training for either FreeHand 1.75G or Pageant, and walk through an interactive program led by BASF Technical Specialists Kathie Kalmowitz and Todd Burkdoll respectively. A concluding quiz gives users a chance to challenge their retention skills.

“We’re committed to bringing growers and BASF distributors educational tools they can use to better understand our products as well as new and emerging weed and disease pressures,” said Dr. Toni Bucci, BASF Turf & Ornamentals Business Manager. “These training modules provide need-to-know, quality content in a simple and intuitive fashion for a very busy audience.”

FreeHand 1.75G is a preemergence herbicide that combines a granular formulation of dimethenamid-P with pendimethalin for time-saving weed control. Pageant fungicide combines the active ingredient boscalid, newly registered for ornamentals, with pyraclostrobin, the active ingredient in Insignia® fungicide. Pageant helps growers control more diseases with one application than any other registered fungicide on the market.
